Drowsy Co Silk Sleep Mask Review: Is This Silk Sleep Mask Better Than Botox?

We’ve long be told about the benefits of silk for our skin and hair, and in recent years the sale of silk sleeps masks, silk pillow cases and silk hair scrunchies has sky rocketed with the promise of making us look younger, helping us with common skin issues and giving us healthier, shinier, stronger hair.

Now the latest trending product which has taken the internet by storm has some users even saying they’re trading in their botox for something that is cheap and non invasive to keep their fine lines and wrinkles at bay, and that is the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask. With a plethora of 5 star customer reviews and 93% of those asked saying they would recommend to a friend, we knew we had to try it.

First thing to note, while it certainly is much cheaper than botox it’s still pricey for a sleep mask at £69. Why is it so much more expensive than other silk sleep masks on the market?

The Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask is cushioned and much larger, covering more of the face and head than the average silk sleep mask, including the back of your head, protecting a larger portion of your face and your hair, where they would normally come into direct contact with the pillow. This helps to prevent sleep creases and hair breakages caused by friction. Secondly, the mask is made to ensure complete blackout from any light disturbance ensuring you have an uninterrupted sleep. Thirdly, the padded design provides a deeply relaxing cushioning for the face and head helping you to prepare for sleep and is adjustable to fit you perfectly.

So with that in mind, I placed my order and gave the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask a whirl.

When my Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask arrived I couldn’t wait to give it a try and I have to say that the mask looks and feels very luxurious. It’s easy to put on and adjust for the perfect fit and it felt cool on the skin and the cushioning did feel incredibly relaxing.

I can also say it is indeed 100% blackout with no light getting through, which is a real bonus for a silk sleep mask. As someone who does not generally need to set an alarm for the morning, I naturally slept in later than I normally would wearing this mask for the first time, which I suppose is proof in itself that it does what it says on the tin.

However, the main reasons I wanted to try this mask was for the skin and hair benefits. In recent years I have had issues with hair damage from my pillow and worsening sleep creases which are causing fine lines, so I was very keen to see if this could help.

Because the sleep mask fits entirely round the head, it also protects the hair where it meets the pillow - which is where I was experiencing hair damage. Before using the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask I would wake up in the morning to find my hair would be incredibly tangled, dry feeling and the damage was becoming visibly noticeable. However, from day 1 of wearing this mask, my hair remained smooth and untangled after a full nights sleep.

And as for the sleep creases, well those are now a thing of the past. Because the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask covers most of the head and face, the majority of the skin no longer makes direct contact with the pillow case and therefore these is no opportunity for sleep creases to appear. The only question I now have is will the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask help reverse some of the fine lines that have appeared on my face from the years of not sleeping with a silk mask or pillow case? Well only time will tell on that one but one thing is for sure, they certainly won’t be getting any worse from the perils of being a side and front sleeper.

So is the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask worth the price tag? Yes. Does it help you have a better nights sleep? 100%. Does it improve the appearance of your skin and hair? Undoubtedly. Will I be buying everyone I know the Drowsy Sleep Co Silk Sleep Mask as gifts. You can bet on it.
