Why We Love M&S Petite Clothing

We’ve always been big fans of M&S at Friday Petite and it’s not hard to understand why we love the home-grown British retailer. From their delicious offerings at M&S Food, to the essential shopping trip stop-off at the M&S Lingerie department, and of course M&S clothing, which in our opinion is really very underrated.

Their clothing is good quality, very affordable, and while they may not always be on the cutting edge of the latest trends, you could say that is not necessarily a bad thing.

While we do love trying out new trends and being adventurous when it comes to fashion, whether you’re in your twenties or you’re looking for over 50s fashion, sometimes we all just want quality staples; coats that fit well and keep us warm, jumpers that are cosy, workout leggings that flatter and don’t show your underwear, pretty lingerie that isn’t going to break the bank, and that is very much what is on the menu at Marks & Spencer clothing.

So let’s talk about the M&S petite clothing range and what is on offer.

The absolute best kept secret on the high street is their petite jeans and trousers collection.

If you’re a petite woman, and if you’re reading this it’s safe to assume you are, then you will know that finding petite jeans and trousers in high street shops is a bit like finding a real-life unicorn, and M&S delivers big in this department.

Most of their jeans and trousers come in short, regular and long lengths, and if that’s not enough, they also come in sizes 6-20 which is one of the most inclusive ranges we know of, and there is a vast selection to choose from too, so you know you’ll always find what you need.

Their petite range does also extend to jackets, tops, skirts, leggings & joggers as well, but the range is still relatively small. That being said, their regular range does tend to fit petite proportions a little better in comparison to regular size clothes from other big brands. This has been particularly noticeable when it comes to coats, where arm length is often a big problem for petite women, it tends to be less of an issue with a lot of M&S clothing.

Seasalt Cornwall is also a great option for petite women who are fans of M&S and Boden.
Seasalt Cornwall is perhaps not quite as well-known but with some really great petite clothes that will fit well and which you’re also less likely to see on someone else, which is great too.

If you’re looking for petite nightwear M&S is also a great choice, particularly for their short range of pyjama bottoms which are a great fit for petites. You can check out a range of petite nightwear perfect for women 5’4” and under from top brands here

But for us, M&S clothing will remain top of our list and an absolute go-to for all our day-to day fashion needs. Whether it’s updating our workwear with some great fitting petite trousers or petite blazers, or grabbing some quality petite jeans that you know will last and won’t cost you a fortune, or even just enjoying more choice from better proportioned regular size clothing. And of course who doesn’t love being able to buy a new dress, a bottle of Prosecco and some Percy Pigs at the same time!
